Recently just bought an SSD x25-M 2.5in 80gb Drive for my Asus g51vx-rx05, for some reason it will not stay recognized if i leave the SATA operation mode as enhanced, which keeps everything reading as AHCI, but when i switch the operation mode to Compatible and run it in like an "ide" emulation type mode the SSD stays recognized and im able to have no issues with running the drive. I know your suppose to run those drives in AHCI soo im just really confused as to why i am having so many issues with this SSD drive working on my laptop. I have tried all types of configurations such as having only the SSD drive in and stuff like that to see if that was the problem and to no luck it wasn't. I also am having issues performing the firmware update on the SSD drive, trying to make a bootable usb drive to update it but for some reason i can't really get a good converted iso to img file to use for the bootable usb drive. Any help at all would be greatly appreciated ! :D

Perhaps it is an issue with AHCI mode with your laptop's motherboard? My E6410 did not like AHCI mode, I would get random BSOD with AHCI mode on. When changed back to ATA/IDE mode, no more BSOD.

Try installing in IDE mode and doing the registry fix for it.

What registry fix are you talking about for this?? Just kinda confused and haven't come across this yet.

Also i have seen random posts from people with an ASUS g51vx-rx05 and not having any issues with installing SSD's
