Hey there, I want a SSD for my HTPC/Server. I can get the Intel 520 60GB for the same price as the Crucial mf 120GB. I wonder which one would be faster/more reliable ?
So far I really liked the Intel SSD's but I could imagine that the 120GB Crucial > 60 GB Intel ?
Thanks
@edit: Or the Crucial m4 64GB ?

The Crucial drives are quite reliable nowadays, you certainly get a lot more for your money compared to the Intel drives. Personally I find it hard to recommend Intel drives from the price alone, not to mention they switched to Sandforce controllers for some of their SSD's which has a flaky reliability record. Other alternatives you could try is the Samsung 830 which has a proven track record in reliability and are priced keenly too.

The Crucial M4 is a very good SSD and considering the usually higher priced Intel drives, I'd suggest you go with the Crucial.

I'd go for the Crucial, simply due to the higher capacity and lower prices for essentially the same reliability.

I recommend you don't go for either of those. You want something fast with high reliability? Then the Samsung 830 is your answer. A 128GB model will often go below $100.
If it was strictly between those two, id go for the Crucial based on price/capacity. I would hope reliability wouldn't be an issue.

Reliability wouldn't be much of an issue for the M4, seeing as the only major bug it had was fixed awhile ago. There's nothing wrong with the 520, M4, or 830, they're all fine choices.

Given the two choices, another vote for the M4. There's no reason to pay twice as much per GB for the 520, as you won't get twice the reliability or twice the performance.

my vote on the m4 as well
