I have bought an expresscard with 2 eSATA ports for my laptop and connected 2 separate external hard drives to it. When I try to eject a hard drive, however, I discovered that I have to eject the entire expresscard device and that there is no way to eject each individual hard drive. Does anyone out there know of a way to eject individual drives?

Try hotswap! to eject individual drives.
