    Safety ejecting DVR-RW ?

    Is it normal that my laptop DVD+RW always appears in the peripheral ejecting list of the notification tray (just like a usb periph)?

    I can eject it but each time I reboot, it cames back!

    I believe that means the DVD+RW drive is noted as hot-swappable on the laptop. I know SATA drives just about always (if always) show up as ejectable even though generally we don't want to have it removed. And of course USB devices as you said.

    I wouldn't worry about it, its just the computer saying you can remove it and plug something else in, although not sure what else you would plug in there.

    I think you may be right, it is a swapabble bay I have. But i wonder if it takes some of the ressources for nothing... well i probably wonder too much, this d_amn laptop is a centrino with 1024 MB of RAM !
