Curious if anyone knows why Sager isn't offering the new cpus line that companies like MSI are offering?

I checked with Sager and they said once it's officially announced they will offer it, but if MSI already offers the chips.. how it not out yet?

I've been looking for a new laptop for months now and just waiting for a deal or a reason to buy.. Wondering if there is anything worth waiting for. The 4th of July sale was a complete bust for laptops.

Skylake is rumored to be announced next month with the higher TDP parts coming in October. The Broadwell quad-cores are a stopgap measure and many manufacturers aren't bothering with them (MSI is an exception). Why bother with a die shrink when a new architecture will be out a few months later?

I know it's too early to tell, but would waiting to October be beneficial over buying a laptop now if i could wait?

I doubt Skylake will be a game changer for desktops unless the overlooking headroom is crazy..

However, is there any benefits for the Skylake laptop platform?

Not with the launch models. If you wanna wait for about 6 months to 1 year for the high end Extreme versions then yes.

I always says this, enjoy the best there is for now as there will always be something better around the corner. If you keep waiting, you are just missing out on the fun.

I can agree with this... but I would wait for launch of Skylake if you can (if for nothing else; a potential price drop) - and wait for the six months to a year too if what you have now is truly good enough. ;)

I think when Skylake hits I will upgrade my desktop.. I dont really need a desktop replacement out of my laptop.. Just want to make sure it lasts 5 or so years and can still run the games smoothly even if the settings need to go to low for some games
