    Hello everyone,

I recently purchased a GTX 670m for my Sager NP8150 to replace a dead GTX485m. I am having a hell of a time getting this card to work in my laptop. When I power on my laptop it will boot fine then after a few seconds it beeps and the 3 lights by the power button (cap locks, num lock) flash. It will beep and the lights will flash a few times and then the laptop will power down. I have tried flashing the EC/Bios to the latest version but it didn't fix the problem. Anyone have any idea what might be causing this problem?

    thanks

do you know what version the vBIOS is? If it isn't Clevo, it probably won't boot? The error that is happening can be due to that or dead motherboard...

I am not sure what version the VBIOS is do you know a way to tell? I bought the card from eurocom under the sager/clevo upgrades section of there website so I would assume it is a clevo card. I have sent an email to eurocom asking for assistance maybe they will know the version of VBIOS that is on the card.

Ok then, the issue must be something else..Try removing the battery, the CMOS or BIOS battery and then press and hold the power button for 60s, replace the batteries and see if it boots..

@jaybee83, you used to own one correct? Any idea about the error our friend is facing?

Can you get into Safe Mode? That won't mean it is working, but you could then check to see if it is recognized in the system. Maybe you need to mod some display drivers? Was it officially supported for your laptop?

I had this problems several times on HM-Series with Kepler Cards. It means that a wrong/incompatible vBios is on it. The warning you have/the beep codes indicates that the Bios isn't able to read from the thermal sensors of your Card, assuming it is overheating and therefore shutting down.

So you have to flash the right Clevo vBios on your Card. This one to be precisely. This should be the EM-Version as only the vBios for EM's will work on HM machines. You can compare the vBios Version, by flipping your Card and see which version sticker you have. If this shouldn't do the trick, then the Card is most probably bricked in some way...

If you are able to post after reflashing then install the modded Driver from laptopvideo2go and you should be fine. Just grab the latest .inf file and replace the original one from the officially downloaded Nvidia Driver.

    Hope, that helps!

I recently received a replacement card from Eurocom due to the first one I was shipped having a faulty sensor that was apparently causing the issue I was having. The computer now boots fine and does not turn off on me! The next issue I seem to be having is installing the drivers. I can't seem to get the drivers to install for this card.

You have to install modded Drivers for it. The standard ones won't work. Like I posted before, grab the official Nvidia Driver and replace the appropriate .inf file with that one from laptopvideo2go. Make sure Driver signature is off before installing. You can disable it via DDU.

Agreed, you will need to mod the driver.. Either use the inf from laptopvideo2go or mod the driver inf yourself.. Also disable driver signature before trying to install otherwise the install will fail..
