No it is not compatible with DDR3.
Intel P965 does not know what is DDR3.

DDR2 and DDR3 modules are not compatible with each other. (200pin vs 204pin)

Use CPU-Z, PC Wizard 2008 and Everest Ultimate, to get system info....

I don't think the RAM stick will even fit... at least not the little plastic edge that sticks up.

DDR3 and DDR2 are not compatible or swappable.

It would not matter anyways, there is no performance difference between DDR2 or DDR3.... especially in notebooks.

    Its just a new standard.

gotchya, and ya from any graphs or reviews comparing the two different types of rams, there was very little increase in performance, inface no increase in the gaming performace, what a marketing scheme if u ask me...

Well I agree with Gophn and what he said. I know PC8500 DDR3 is not faster than my DDR2 PC6400 because of CL. But it is not a gimmick it uses less power. Less heat less power draw. It is what it is nothing more nothing less. I did just buy a T9400 35w TDP and DDR2? Well I get performance but heat and power consumption are less than they can be. I don't mind.

But not a gimmick in any way. ;) :)
