I need a 1TB 2.5 drive, and the only one that I can find is the Samsung Spinpoint M8 SATA 3G, 8MB, 5400 RPM, HN-M101MBBa. I see a lot of negative reviews, on various sites. Is it that bad, and are any other brands available?
Thanks

i have samsung 1TB which is doing fine....
you can lookup WD10JPVT as an alternative..... -
I have this very drive and its great.
No issues at all. -
The alternative would be a WD caviar blue 1TB.

Battle of the 1TB Laptop Hard Drives: Samsung vs. Western Digital
I've got the Sammy. No issues yet, though it seems to have racked up 105k head load/unload cycles. -
Well all I know is, I got this hard drive for £60 delivered in may.
I'm more than happy with it's performance.
