I am looking into upgrading my current monitor which can be seen here.

I am able to get a good deal on the following monitor and was wondering if it would be adequate. From what I've seen the quality of the picture itself is good. My main concern is with the resolution and if I'll be able to lower the resolution to a realistic level without a decrease in picture quality. (1920x1080 more than likely)

Although I do quite a bit of browsing and multitasking for work and school, my main concern is gaming. Thanks!

Lowering the resolution is never good on a LCD. If you're running Vista or W7 you're much better off adjusting the DPI. Are you happy with your current monitor? If you are it seems kind of wasteful to spend for a small upgrade. Also keeping in mind the higher the resolution, the more your GPU has to work, though it's a small bump.
