    Yeup it sure would.

Just so you guys know, which you probably already do, Samsung sold Apple the technology for the iPod Nano. Yeup it's Samsung's flash memory in those Apple's.

    :D

woooow. Check out those speeds. That will blow any 2.5"er easily. Flash drives have near zero latency and no drop in speed towards the end of the drive like conventional hard drives. With 16Gb per chip samsung has really got their hands on a great invention for all computerized systems (handheld entertainment, car navigation and computers, notebooks .... the list goes on forever)

"Flash prices are forecasted to experience sharp drops, leads us to believe that the 32 GB device announced today will be priced significantly below (commercial grade) SSDs and hit the market in a price range between $750 and $1000 when introduced."
SO expensive. I would wait another few years before buying these flash drive.

It won't be for a few years, but I'd say it's definitely going to happen. Once people get used to the speed of flash memory, even if they can store more on a harddrive, they're not going to be able to go back.

Not only is the performance better but it seems this would be better for mobility (even with drop protection tech in the new HD's its still not as safe as this is since you don't have moving parts/spindles etc) also seems it could run cooler to. But yeah way expensive and the sizes aren't very large yet either. Not my next laptop but hopefully the one after that will come with this :)

Yeah I guess the only thing holding them back from providing us with flash harddrives is the pricing and also so they can milk us for a little longer in using harddrives.

Man that would be awesome if we could just use flash drives as harddrives. You could just carry the little thing around. Wow, can't wait for that day.

Ah that will be the day! SO much lighter faster and cooler. I wonder if laptops could really shrink insize then. I can wait a few years for this tech though. Maybe it will be ready when I get my next laptop. :)

Wow! Neat. 32GB's of flashdrive memory operating at 2x the speed of a normal laptop HD. Sounds expensive :p
