I will probably upgrade my 1810t with a 128gb SSD in the future, which of the two is better?

Samsung 830.

The Intel 520 hasn't had time to really prove itself yet. Of those two I'd go with the Samsung because of their stellar RMA process and it has been proven. RMA on Samsung is: call, get emailed a one day shipping label, they receive it and one day a replacement is shipped, voila. 3 day turnaround ftw.

I suppose the 4 series chipset in the 1810t can only use 3Gb, so therefore the 520 would be overkill.
Another thing is the Samsung seems to be 7mm. -
you can get samsung in notebook kit, there you get a 2.5mm spacer and than it fits to any notebook.
Samsung will also fully saturate your sata interface, but that isn't a bad thing is it? If there is any, even remote, possibility you might migrate that disk to a new machine, go with one of faster ones
only advantage 320 has over 520 and 830 is it uses less power. -
Both are decent drives, but the Samsung 830 is a SATA 6.0Gb/s drive compared to the Intel 320 being a SATA 3.0Gb/s drive so if you have a notebook that can take advantage of the SATA 6.0 speeds then the 830 should edge ahead of the Intel 320 in terms of performance. I have the Samsung 830 SSD in my notebook and it has been really good to me so far, it's actually more faster and dare I say more reliable than my Intel 510 drive. Below are my benchmarks of the 128GB 830 SSD.

I'm a samsung fan since the last century ... LOL, so another vote from me

I have both of these drives, and the Samsung 830 is faster, if you can get it on a SATA 3 interface. If you're planning on using it in another computer, might as well get that. I only got the Intel 320 for my laptop since its still SATA 2.
They're both still faster than any HDD you'd get.
