Well my crucial m4 is about to die I think so im going to try to RMA it here shortly as it will randomly just become undetectable for a while and refuse to boot till I let it sit in the bios. In the meantime I was on newegg and saw the regular samsung 840 250gb drive for just $158 plus a digital copy of Far Cry 3. I know the 830 is a great little drive, but how is the 840? Thanks ahead of time for any replies. :)

the 830 will be much better choice than the regular 840.

The non-Pro 840 comes with TLC NAND which has lower P/E cycles (1,000 TLC vs 3,000 MLC). TLC NAND is also slower compared to MLC NAND (quite noticeable in sequential write benchmarks). The only reason the Samsung 840 beats the Samsung 830 in certain benchmarks is because of the new, improved controller.

ah gotcha. Guess ill hold off for a while then and wait for the prices on the 840 pro to drop or see if I can find a cheap 830. Not looking to break the bank on a new bigger SSD. :(
