May I ask how it is possible that you have exceeded speed possible by SATA 6Gb interface? Are you using RADI-0 configuration?

Hes using the Samsung RAPID software that caches to the system memory (RAM) as a sort of buffer.

Don't mean to get off topic too much but...

Is the RAPID RAM cache software...

    Reliable?
    Consistent?
    Predictable?
    Noticeable in daily use?

I am having a hard time deciding between the 840 EVO 1TB and the M500 960GB SSDs. The EVO uses TLC NAND with RAPID software, the M500 uses MLC NAND without any special cache software but does have a few things the EVO doesn't like the power flush capacitors in case of total power loss and hardware encryption. If I'm not mistaken, both come with a 3 year manufacturer's warranty. The EVO sure spits out some impressive numbers compared to the M500 but I am missing the bigger picture?

Reliable and consistent? Yes, absolutely 0 issues here.

Noticable? I may be wrong here but it seems to take a few seconds more to boot up the system when you have RAPID enabled. As if it is faster in everything else? Hard to pinpoint I would say it is faster than my 840 PRO. Most snappy drive I have ever owned. Everything happens on the fly :)

No issues with Rapid here either, this is my first SSD so i can't compare. I didn't noticed impact in startup times.
I think either you choose will not be noticing the difference unless you have some specific needs.

RAPID needs Magician to load at boot, that should explain a slightly slower delay in boot times.
