I have a 240GB mSATA Crucial M500 in my lappy and have run out of space. I need to upgrade and two highly regarded and economically priced drives seem to be:
$249.00 - Crucial M550 512GB
$209.00 - Samsung 840 EVO 500GB
I'm leaning towards the EVO, not only because it's cheaper but also since it has so many great reviews. However, the M550 is newer and is also highly regarded.
Which drive, if either, would you recommend?

If stuck between those two drives, I'd go with Crucial.
I'll be shopping for a similar size drive shortly, and will likely go with SandDisk Extreme Pro.
My $0.02 only...
Happy shopping. -
I just went for two Crucial M550 mSATA drives. Based on reviews and advice from others I felt more comfortable with the M550s. I honestly think you couldn't go wrong either way though.

I would recommend the M550 over the 840 Evo... Although the 840 Evo mSATA doesn't have the issues of the 2.5" 840 Evo, I'll will stay as far away as I can from a SSD with TLC memory...

The MX100 is the best buy right now. (TLC EVO crap not even in the running).
