    I read that many other had 85o PRO died without even needing faulty firmware update, how often is this?

    yeah and not only did they break hundreds of users' SSDs and had them have to reformat their PC or send the SSD for RMA, they don't even have the decency to quickly post an updated firmware to fix their mistake or at least post the old firmware and a way to downgrade.
