A relative of mine requested me to find a laptop suitable for her needs. I guess I've settled on some Samsung laptops NP905S3G, but I have some reservations that I need to sort out first:

    1) Does Samsung manufacture its own CPUs? (I did not hear about this before but some e-tailers specifically state that certain NP905S3G varities are made by Samsung, some say nothing, leading to uncertainty).

    2) If "yes", then how long Samsung has been manufacturing them?

    3) Has enough time passed to judge quality of Samsung CPUs?

    4) If "yes", in general, is it possible to say that AMD is better than Samsung, just as Intel is better than AMD as widely accepted?

Well technically, they make Phone CPUs, so the answer is yes. Samsung just doesn't make any Computer CPUs.

Thank you guys. It must be the mistake of the etailers listing incorrect specifications.

The unnamed CPU in the NP905S3G is actually AMD but, for some unknown reason, Samsung didn't want the CPU to report its true identity.
