So I was looking to upgrade my memory in my GS65 and saw this: https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=9SIADZJ7RA2370
I'm not sure how real this is but ordered 2 and waiting for it to arrive. I checked google and nothing mentions the CL speed. Even Samsung's own site does not mention latency speed. The link to samsung's site is here: https://www.samsung.com/semiconductor/dram/module/M471A2K43CB1-CTD/
So any of you guys heard or seen this?

So I assume it's an incorrect listing? Damn I will see what happens when I get the ram tomorrow. I was so excited that it was going to be CAS 11 and for about 125 per stick. Guess it was too good to be true.

Yes, that ad is incorrect. It doesn't run CL11 at 2666mhz. It is CL19 which is below average (lower is better). It runs CL11 at a lower frequency.
Unless you have XMP settings in the bios and can really tighten up the timings with a bit extra voltage (unlikely), or you got a better deal than current prices, they're not a great price at ~125usd/1x16gb anyway... maybe return them requesting free return shipping due to wrong spec in the ad and go for one of the other 'slow 2666' options for ~100usd/1x16gb or the hyperx impact that's CL15 at the same speed and only slightly more expensive at ~135usd/1x16gb -
Yea I figured it could be an incorrect spec. I'll find out tonight and most likely go for the ballistic or the hyperx. 200 for c16 vs 272 for c15. I doubt I'll notice.

If you want the fastest ram, you have 3 options. The first an probably safest bet is the hyperx impact that does 2666mhz at CL15, and should work on just about every ddr4 laptop optimally because the profiles it has work very well latency wise, even at 2133mhz. Alot of manufacturers and oems do not even go past 2666mhz due to stability issues. HidEvolution for instance no longer offers 3000mhz sodimms due to that.

Your second option, it is the 3,000 mHz ram from either Corsair or Gskill. They both have ACL of 16, and your mileage may vary with them with stability. The third option are there really fast 4000 megahertz plus chips that are only single rank, however people getting these to work is somewhat rare and I'm not for the well aware of working examples. On a side note, 3200 megahertz rAM chips that also are quite good, for whatever reason latency goes up dramatically at that point with manufacturers. -
Yes the difference between cl15 and cl16 is minimal unless you want some benchmark bragging rights but for me it was cl11 at 250 that had me think heck why not 50 more for cl11 instead of cl16. I think the ballistix ram for 200 at cl16 would be fine for my instead of the hyperx at 271 at cl15. Honestly I doubt I would see any performance increase in my day to day editing videos and pics while playing games. Also didn't want to try anything faster for a laptop as the bios is very limited. I mean at 2666 vs 3200 or even 3000 if I could reach those speeds would have been a difference of 1 fps in my games so I don't think I'll be going faster. If it was a desktop maybe I would have opted for faster but then again I already have 3200 for my desktop at cl16.

So the ram I originally had were no where near CL11 but they were CL19. Go figure. Ianticipated that and ended up buying the ballistix on amazon: https://www.amazon.com/Ballistix-16...prefix=ballis,electronics,151&sr=1-2-fkmrnull
Looks like I need to set some setting in the Bios to make it read at 2666 as it's reading 2400 now.
Samsung DDR4-2666 16GB CL11?? Is it real?
