    Hi everyone,

I hope this is the right place to post this, if not please point me in the right direction!

I have a Samsung Q310 which has developed a problem. The screen is now extrememly dark as though the backlight isn't working. If I look at it really closly I can see my windows desktop but it's extremely dark.

I've tried the obvious things like checkinng the brightness but this does nothing so I'm fairly sure it's a hardware fault.

Does anyone have any more info on this at all? Is it a common problem? Is it likely to be the backlight that has failed or is there something powering the backlight that could be the problem?

Any trouble shooting tips, thoughts or info would be great.

The laptop is a couple of years old now so I'm not sure how economical it would be to send to be repaired.
