Hi there!
The subject. My Samsung SSD 840 PRO fails to authenticate by Samsung Magican and above of this I can not set Over Provisioning, Magican says "Unable to access the last volume".
Version of Samsung Magican 4.3
SSD firmware version DXM06B0Q
Serial S12RNEACC92528V

u should be going to samsung's website and asking those people to help u in authenticating.

You can create an unallocated partition of 10-20% of your ssd by going in to disk management.

Did you try reinstalling Magician 4.3? I just noticed that it no longer reports the Total Bytes Written and can no longer read the SMART data for my EVO mSATA (probably the reason for no TBW).
It used to do this OK so I re-installed the software to overwrite the current installation and now it's working again.

1. Just uninstall - restart - reinstall (no result)
2. Uninstall - cleaned all related to Magician keys in windows register - restart - install (no result)
And it still failure to authenticate and OP does not work. I have tried previous version of Magician, still no hope. -
I had been unable to update my EVO firmware since purchase, and then suddenly unable to authenticate after installing the latest Magician. Removing Intel Rapid Storage Technology finally allowed me to do both!

There's no need for any external software to do OP. Simply hit up "compmgmt.msc" and then click "Disk Management" on the left panel. From there you can set the unallocated space for each drive you have in your laptop.

The problem of SSD Magician not reporting the TBW for my EVO mSATA has reappeared.
Re-installation of SSD Magician did not fix the problem this time around so I uninstalled Intel Rapid Storage and SSD Magician is working again, at the moment. I wait to see whether this situation continues.
