    Dear all,

I have a Samsung SSD PM810 256 GB (470 series) in my dell Latitude laptop and I'm searching for a firmware updater.

I tried with Magician but the drive seems to be locked by dell. My firmware is AXM06D1Q

Is there a way to unlock the drive and flash it with a normal Samsung firmware?

    Thx

Unless Dell has an updated version, probably not too easily.

I would suggest looking in Linux threads for ways to force an update on your SSD (possibly) - but, don't forget that doing so could easily brick it too. Back up your data before you try anything.

What do you need the updated firmware to do? Are you having issues with it right now? Also, how old is the drive/system? If this is hardware issues, Dell should be able to at least give you a different SSD (with possibly newer firmware) if you're still within the warranty period.

Perhaps it might be worth taking out the SSD and using HDDErase to restore the drive and then trying the firmware update? Obviously may not work, but only you can decide if its worth the hassle :)
