    Samsunng q 210 no brigthness - is this a Nvidia-problem?

    hello dear community,


    the notebook samsung q 210 has got no brightness.

    in other words i cannot controll it. it is too dark


    see the data:

    any idea to change that?!

    If it looks like this then your backlight is dead (shine on screen with flashlight):

    Considering the age of your screen (probably an LTN154X3-L01), it's a CCFL type, instead of the newer LED. That means it's either the tube itself (these have limited lifespan) or the backlight inverter (transformer to provide the high voltage a FT needs). There's no effective way to tell whether it's the ccfl or the inverter (without access to a multimeter or spare parts), but the ccfl is the cheaper part to replace; it's a single-tube panel, so all you need is one new $4 lamp.

    Is it entirely dark like the pic above, or you simply cannot control the brightness? I am confused.

    If it's the control for display brightness with Linux then people have written the necessary code such as this.

    The Q210 isn't listed here, but I'm sure that some of the other models are similar.
