Hmmm...so instead of using the constantly cheaper flash memory, we use glorified flash memory that still costs $35/GB? I have yet to see any real-world benefits from Intel turbo memory on a system with more than 2 GB of RAM, so I have to wonder if it would really be that much better than a flash-memory based SSD.

Incidentally, check your BIOS's advanced settings to see if it supports "AHCI." If it does, you may be able to use turbo memory (though it requires some significant disassembly). If it doesn't, you definitely CAN'T use turbo memory.

I thought the new thing behind this disk is that you can boot windows from it and have it work in tandem with your HD. Can you already do that with larger SD cards (are they even big enough for XP Pro?)? I would be really interested in just having windows boot from a flash based drive to increase performance. Probably add my frequently used apps as well. Thinking about combining a flash-drive to handle windows and my 7k200 to handle everything else sounds so good.

I emailed Sandisk's marketing dept to inquire about the Vaulter. They said there will be another press release soon, but didnt provide any further details. Just have to wait, I guess...

Hmmm, that's good news. Hopefully they can make something as fast as SSD or faster still.

I would give 150-199 USD for something with at least 64GB
