Hi. Thanks for reading this thread.
I need some advice/input/direction as to my Toshiba Satellite M45 screen does not work. I am unsure of what the problem is because the computer was given to me by my father. He did not give me a reason for the screen not working nor did he give a description of what happened prior to the screens malfunctioning. (I do not live with him, nor speak to him often...for those wondering "Why dont you just ask him")
Can someone offer input/direction to a thread or a URL that would help me get this screen working.
Thanks in advance. Much appreciated.

**Bump** Help please anyone.

Does it work if you hook it up to an external screen? If so, it's probably a damaged LCD or connection to the LCD you have on your laptop. You might need a replacement screen.
BTW: Please don't bump threads for at least 24 hours. -
yea...I connected the laptop to external monitor...
I'm getting some weird reactions from this laptop.
1.) First time I booted up viewing from external monitor I got an error message reading: Insufficient System Resources.....I couldnt read the rest because the laptop booted off by itself.
2.) Second time booting w/ external screen I got an error message reading: Not enough virtual memory or paging quota is available to complete the specified operation. So I had to force off.
3.) Next try booting w/ external monitor, I got the Toshiba boot up screen finally but it hangs on this screen. So I force off (BTW pressing power button will not turn off, I have to hold for it to turn off)
And so I thought I would just try this for the HELL OF IT, and so I pop in XP installation cd and the keyboard nor mouse work.
Wut is going on???
Can anyone offer some help? -
Oh great, Now I cant get the XP cd out of the drive...WTF?!?!?!
-
Sounds like you need a new laptop. This one is giving too many error to really bother trying to fix. To get the CD out, use a paperclip to push the emergency eject on the side or bottom of your laptop.

Yea, thanks for the suggestion Lithus (and the help), but Im not going to just go buy a laptop, I dont have that kind of money for one and for two I thought forums were to help troubleshoot. I tried the laptop again. This time I got the cd out just by pushing the button, not w/ paperclip and emergency eject. Now I know the keyboard works because when I press the "Fn" key a light comes on, on the keyboard.
Any additional help is appreciated. -
So weird, I removed the battery and the LAPTOP screen worked, then after the windows boot screen a blue screen appeared and then the laptop restarted. Now the screen doesnt work again. But at least I know that works now too.
What is wrong? -
Ok. Got the screen to work, only had to take the laptop apart, disconnect video cable and other little wire with it. Then I tried to boot without them diconnected first, I guess it went fine. Next I reconnected video cable and other little wire. Now the screen works. And "someone" said buy a new laptop. pssshhhh.

Now i know the screen works, but after a while I tried turning on the laptop and now it wont even turn on, but the AC adapter power light is on, but the light turns off when I push the power button. Strange right?
I tried taking out battery and run from AC only. No go.
I tried reseating memory (BTW i have 2 sticks, tried multiple seating). No go.
I tried taking out the battery and AC, leave for five minutes. No go.
I tried doing what got the laptop working in the first place, with video canle and such. No go.
I'm running out of ideas here.
I NEED ASSISTANCE PLEASE! -
When I run the laptop (battery only), and I push the power button, it blinks the yellow light for a milisecond as I am pushing the power button.

Feeling mighty stupid for having to say this, after disassembling the latop, I put hard drive in 1 pin wrong, after repositioning harddrive correctly, boots fine.

Glad to see you got it working. I would have helped if I could, but I' m not that knowledgeable on that stuff.
