Can anyone tell me if my laptop is capable of supporting four gigs RAM? I read (somewhere) that my model came with either a 943 chipset or a 945. I read that the 943 would not support four gigabytes, but the 945 would. Is that true?

You should have the 945GM and it should support 4GB of memory. 940, 943, 945GMS, and 945GSE will only support up to 2GB (in theory).

I have reached the inescapable conclusion that I was mistaken — my system will not support four gigabytes of RAM. Thanks for the effort, Commander.
