Dont know if this is the right place but neway, my mate in his wisdom let his brother put his foot through the screen of his nice shiny Toshiba Satellite, cant quite remember which it is but generally can you get new screens for laptops? the warranty has expired but it was a nice laptop regardless.

You can replace the screen, it shouldn't be too hard. Generally replacement screens are very expensive. I'd check ebay. If you have to get a brand new one you may as well just buy a new laptop. You could also buy a barebones system and install the bits from the Toshiba in that.
