    Hi all,

First time posting on this forum.

I am interested in knowing about updading screens For laptops. In general I have an idea of how to do it, but I would like to know the restrictions of it.

    Questions

1.To replace a screen I will require a new one, is there any online store which sells them?

    2. Are QHD screens widely available as of yet or will I require another year or so?

    3. Is it possible to upgrade a non-touchscreen to a touchscreen?

As far as I am looking I either want a QHD /3K screen or a Touchscreen.

GPU and Ram wise the laptop shall be able to handle it (uses the new 870m chip). And the screen size should be the standard 15,6'

I am located in the UK.

    Thank you

    1. Yes
    2. No
    3. Not usually.
    4. You are not usually able to jump from a lower resolution band to a higher one.

    Band 1: 1366x768
    Band 2: 1440x900 to 1920x1080
    Band 3: Beyond 1080p.

    Thanks,

The laptop I am after is avaliable with a 3k screen (MSI GS60) but the only currently UK store that advertises it only comes with a 1080 screen. Therefore I thought that it would be as simple as replacing the panel. But following your reply it would make sense if MSI reworked the way the laptop screen is made depending on screen Band.

    Thanks for the information.
