Hello all,
My fiancee just purchased a Dell Inspiron 13 7000,primarily for business use, but I will use it from time to time as well. It is a great laptop for the money, but it turns out that the model that we bought on sale at Microcenter only has a 1366x768 display. She couldn't be convinced that it was worth it to spend $200 more for the same model with a nicer screen, so I figured what the heck, let's grab it.
We've taken it home and I've swapped out the 5400 RPM HD for an SSD, and some time spent with the thing on the couch has me really loving the 360 degree screen tilt and touchscreen functionality. The only thing is that the low-fi display is pretty bad, and I'd like to upgrade it, if possible.
Our model number is i7347-7550sLV. I know that Dell sells another model (i7347-7550sLV) that purportedly has the same internals with a 1080p screen. So is there any reason why I couldn't purchase a higher-res screen intended for use in the latter model and swap out the displays? Laptop display retailers that I've found online seem to all advise that you only swap out for identically-specced displays, but from what I can tell these are boilerplate disclaimers meant to ward of technically illiterate people who don't understand whether their laptop is powerful enough for a higher-res display. What about going even higher-res?
Thanks for any advice you can offer!

Is it too late to put the HDD back in and return it for the model you actually want?
