Well i have always wanted to get a good screen calibrator but i have not wanted to shell out the 200-400 bucks for a full featured one. What are some good ones on the market? I know new ones have come out over the last couple years. What are the price ranges and the differences between them. I know you can get a basic one that had only limited settings for like 50-100 bucks but what are the primary difference and what do you guy's/gal's recommend. I got someone in the local area with an FW900 and i honestly don't know if i can tell good enough with my own eyes if it is working perfectly. I remember reading that one out of the 3 colors slowly die as time progresses but you can adjust the colors to correct it for the most part for quit a long time before it gets unbearable/fixable.
Any who, thanks for the help.

UPDATE: read through this and i use multiple monitors and from what i understand...never used a calibrator but read a bit about them. I want to calibrate only from the OSD and not from the LUT/ICC because that affects all monitors. Or is there a LUT per monitors in the graphics card?

I have read some more and i think each monitor has a LUT right?

interesting so yes high end screens have actual LUT in them. So i believe my u2412m has one. Would an FW900 also have one?
EDIT: well lacie's blue eyes is off the market for the most part so i am stuck between the i1Display Pro (new one) and i1Display 2. Does anyone know which one is better? I also learned there is a fairly good community colorimeter that can be paired with the i1Display 2 but not sure if it is compatible with the new one. They both are the same price. Go with the tried and and true?

Any advice on this retailer?

Also the i1Display 2 is only on amazon but not sold by amazon :/
amazon has the i1Display pro in the past for 211 but i can't really wait so i will chance antonline since blue eyes and i1Display 2 dont really exist anymore.

you can get DTP94(Monaco Optix XR) or i1 Display 2 off ebay for fairly cheap, though they are used and pretty old in age. (got my set sub 50, but the manf date is was like 2006)
Lacie hardware is same as i1 display2, and you can use Lacie software for either of above if want.
If you want something sub-200 and new then spyder4, colormunki display or i1 display pro. Actually you can still get new(or revised) i1 Disaply 2 hardware, it is called colormunki smile iirc.
LUT/ICC do not affect all monitor, you can apply a lut/icc in the software side and then there is a LUT in the monitor(some monitor you can adjust) which you can disregard in most cases. I believe you can change stuff(chromaticity, lut etc) internally in dell ultra sharp monitor if you enter the back-end mode(forgot how it is called, but it is not advised to do so)
Screen calibrator...whats on the market?
