    hey!

I am going trough some problems with my new graphic card.

I bought used 9600m GT ddr3 with MSI BIOS into my Acer, anyway card is fulyl functional under safe mode, but in normal mode screen goes black :/ ussualy while after login, few times it went black right after hiting enter when I confirmed my password...

there some exceptions playing videos (both full scren or windowed) and playing games (same like video but with lower performace than my last 8600m GT)

once I had BSOD with someting like nvldai or something but neevr again, only black screens and twice freeze whole Pc with screen on..

I've reisntaled whole PC many times with both 32 and 64bit win7 (no crack),
and I've tried mayn version of nvidia drivers both official and from laptopvideo2go adn everytime I had to use modded INF...

anyway gpu-z showes all info and card is okay in videos and games so it wont be hardware malfunction or bios mismatch.
I've found someone who had problem like me with dell and it was due to selfchanging screen outputs... but I have no spare external LCD to try this out :/

anyone knows any solution to my problem?

Okay, I'm sure the problem is the MSI BIOS on the 9600m GT on an Acer notebook. :)

Could you flash an applicable Acer BIOS on the 9600m?

Can you return the 9600m? (Obviously not compatible...).

Does it do this with the Win7 default video drivers? If yes; then your notebook's BIOS (not the video card's) is somehow conflicting with the video card/bios.

Can you buy an Acer BIOS 9600m GT?

    Good luck.

    hi, thanx for reply

well I've tried to flash it with Nvidia BIOS and Acer BIOS from techPowerUp! :: Video Bios Collection but none has worked despite succesful flash... when I took look in gpu-z I saw that bios versions has changed but vendor was still the same, maybe that was the reason why original (no .inf) drivers didn't recognized my card :/

but still why when instal was succesful (with modded .inf) it was freezin randomly and only when there were no video playback?

anyway since I am from Europe and I'Ve bought this card from USA I'dont think it will be valuable to send it back, I've put that card on ebay instead.

still there must be anyway how to figure this, and yes with MS drivers (those whose comes with original win instal) there r no problems excpet no hw acceleration for DX or OGL, same for omega drivers :(

and for the end I would like to buy same card frm original acer laptop or trade it for this one but its hard and I dont want to ship anything from china/taiwan or but overpriced ones... Maybe fx770m from hp 8530w will work I have opportunity to try it before buy :)

still any other ideas? I would be really grateful for anything'

Sorry, my 'gpu' troubleshooting expertise is all done. :(

Hope others can make some good suggestions to you though.

Oh! How about trying to mod the video BIOS to include the name? That part should be easy, right? (Famous last words...).

    Good luck.

well I couldn't find Acer name in NiBitor so I will try to wait for another suggestions, anyway thank you for trying to help me :)

I think that malfunction is because incompatible drivers not bioses, since even with those freezing drivers gpu-z can show me everything corretly
