Not a dead or stuck pixel. A bright spot that is far more noticeable on lighter colours than darker colours. On a black background it looks grey. On a white background it looks very white and bright. It covers an area larger than a single stuck pixel would, but it's not huge, about the size of a pinhead and perfectly spherical. Still, it easily equals a dead pixel in how irritating and distracting it is.
It must be some sort of backlight defect. I haven't had the laptop long - only a few weeks. I don't remember it being there on day 1, but I've taken good care of it and definitely haven't poked the display or anything like that.
I suppose I'll have to ask for a repair under warranty?

.. Hopefully its gets fixed quickly!!

I'll have to wait until later next week to do something about it because my dissertation hand in date is on the 16th.
This is an Acer netbook I bought to use while my Clevo P651SG was away. Hopefully I'll get the latter back before I send the former off.
Could be worse; at least I'm not taking about my P651SG! -

It is called a "pressure mark" where some extra pressure has been applied to the screen that has stuck the sheets in the LCD together in that spot, allowing for more backlight to bleed through. No way to fix it, unless you have access to a clean room and a lot of time and delicate hands.

Yeah it's nary impossible to capture the damage with a camera, but it is certainly visible in person.

Update: well they responded very quickly. On a Sunday! Pleasantly surprising.
They accepted the picture evidence and offered me a refund or replacement. Seeing as this laptop was bought solely for the purpose of being a temporary computer whilst my main Clevo was away and my dissertation deadline was drawing close, I've asked for a refund as my dissertation is finished and my Clevo laptop should be with me next week (if I can get hold of Scan support line!).
So I'm taking it into the store today and they'll process a refund.
Anyone else in the UK, I can recommend buying from Tesco. Their support has been pretty fantastic to be honest.
Seems like it'll be a happy endingTomJGX likes this.
