My screen has decided to die on me.. its completely blank now.. My GPU is allright for sure as i'm able to see perfectly on an external monitor.. but my screen isn't even being detected by windows.. i just have my samsung tv being detected when i go to NVDIA control pannel.. The screen is just blank making me think the backlight is dead.. the hp logo on the back is lighted up so i really don't know what's the problem... i did have a loose screen cable but it was allright... just some shifting in picture but it became straight.. was working excellently yesterday and now.. Help!

    Cheers

It could be the inverter. Try angling it towards a light source while the OS is loades to see if you can see a faint image on the screen.

EDIT: My bad, you said windows doesn't detect it. It's probably not the inverter then. I'm thinking cable issue. Usually those cables are replaceable.

it doesn't seem to be a cable issue.. i think its a software one or something.. i did a system restore and 2-3 restarts... seems to work for now... i'll keep the thread open for now.

WOW. That is strange....but if its a software issue, you would have seen the splash on startup etc...did you? That would have been a good piece of info to give us in troubleshooting.

the screen was just blank.. nothing... except for the back hp logo being lit on.. i had to do system restore and restart 3 times before screen worked.. very weird... i'm using a later version of mods and no problems now.

Is powermizer enabled? It's been known to cause strange problems. My GX630 (same GPU as you but with DDR3) had some strange performance issues until I disabled it.
