I have a HP dv 1000 that I bought 2 years ago. Now I have 5 vertical lines going through my screen. Is there anyone that can tell me what the problem is and if it is something that can get fixed.

What kind of lines? Color? Maybe your GPU is saying goodbye (or overheating if it isn't there all the time).

    Hi

If you have an external monitor, plug it in that and see if the lines appear in the monitor too. If it does then your graphics card is dying. If it doesnt then its either your LCD panel or the cable. (More likely the cable from wear over the years.)
