    Screen upgrade success, Compal IFL90

    I just wanted to report, since actual details about such procedures are scarce.

    I upgraded the included 1680x1050 screen in the Compal IFL90 (Sager NP2090)
    with GeForce 8600 GTM (512 MB version) to a 1920x1200 screen purchased here:

    When I installed the screen, it tended to display useless flickering lines, but I found that when I reset the graphics card clocks to the default (I had underclocked the graphics card to save power), that symptom went away. It now seems to be working perfectly.

    It's too early to determine if there's been any effect on power usage, although I don't think there would be.
