i came across this post couple of weeks ago and have been wanting to send in my notebook for a screen upgrade (downgrade to some). i've always enjoyed 'glossy' screen far more than standard matte because it was easier on my eyes. the best part about it is that it got rid of the "sparkle effect." their customer representative "LaShanna" was definitely helpful and informative. the turnaround time was a mere 48 hours. i highly recommend this to anyone who considered switching to glossy as it brought new life to the notebook :)

here are some pictures of the finished product.

my screen arrived w/ screen protecting film cover.

you can definitely tell it's glossy from the reflection.

it's definitely brighter, sharper and easier on the eyes.

wow, at first I though the first pic was the upgrade, thought to myself what a piece of crap job. But yeah thats pretty cool upgrade. I defenitly like my glossy screen more then a matte, much brighter and clearer, but theres that reflection, so its a trade off. But just curious, how much did that cost?

i paid $100 for the upgrade plus shipping. the 2 day return shipping w/ insurance only costs $10 but depending on your location your shipping may vary. they're located in Texas.

Seems like a pretty slick deal. Grats on the new glossy screen, enjoy it.

good thread. good pix. threads like these need to be combined into a single sticky so people who eventually ask questions about "how do i change my matte screen to glossy" can just be directed there

Wow. What are your notebook screen specs? Like size and resolution? I'm guessing it's a 17" [That Alienware sure looks a helluvalot like mah Clevo!].

Edit: I'm concerned if I'll need moar power if I upgrade my screen res =/

it's a 17" w/ 1440x900 screen res. it's usually recommended that you do not upgrade your screen res. i don't the problem is the power but compatibility issues.
