Seagate makes really nice hard drives. Was there a specific question or concern you had about this hard drive?

Dont waste the money on the seagate 7200.2, its more expensive than the Hitachi 7k200 series and its slower.
Check out the hdtune thread, to see for yourself.
The 7k200 is on average about 8mb/sec faster than the seagate drive.
Save your money and get the hitachi, its a faster drive.

    You are correct.

The 200GB 7200 Hitachi drives are faster than Seagates. I belive the 160GB 7200 Seagates are faster than the 160 7200 Hitachis however.

    I use the Seagate 200GB 7200.2 in my DV6000. It's a fantastic drive.

I must strongly disagree with the above posts. Whilst the Hitachi may be a better performer and slightly cheaper it is LOUD. Also, you can't use the Hitachi anyway... you know why?! Because it is NOT compatible with your computer. I found this out by emailing Hitachi customer support directly inquiring about it. I had purchased the Hitachi 7k200 and it was giving me issues right out of the box... I thought it was defective. Then after doing some digging I read somewhere that these drives have a hard time with some computers... well... I never thought the DV6000 would be one of those. I was wrong. Hitachi confirmed to me that this drive is indeed incompatible... Which is insane... Considering these are some of the most popular laptops on the market! The thing was a beast too... loud as hell. Bugged the crap out of me. I sent it back, and went with a Seagate because the stock drive that came with mine was a seagate and it worked fine. The seagate 7200.2 is fast, VERY quiet (not as quiet as the 5400.2 - but that's to be expected), and has a 5 year warranty (Versus Hitachi's 3 yr.). I bought mine from Provantage for $152... now they are down to $138 ( http://www.provantage.com/seagate-st9200420as~7SEGH028.htm).

Anyway, I strongly recommend the Seagate! Hope this helps.

@ joshuaLX, Just wondering about the compatibility with the HP dv6000t.
@ Ardroth, I have read this elsewhere as well. It may be faster but not in a dv6000t for sure.
@ K-TRON, Thanks but now you know about the dv6000t.

Looks like I'll be going to newegg, for the seagate.

I'm not sure. You'll have to check with HP or Seagate for compatibility.

It is compatible. I've been using the 7200.2 for over a month in my DV6000 without a single problem. Get it. Although I didn't buy it from Newegg, I did write a review on there (Titled "Fantastic Drive")... At the time the price was like $170 on Newegg... Damn! how the prices drop! I ended up getting it on Provantage.com for $152 (very good website to order from... extremely fast shipping). Now it's going for $138! Anyway, go for it. You won't be disappointed.

    ditch that 7200 drive ;) . the 320gb 5400rpm drives are bigger/faster(barely, usually)/quieter/cheaper/and use less battery
