I'm looking to upgrade my 40GB SATA in my Dell E1505. ZZF has a good deal, $80, on 80GB Seagate Momentus 5400 rpm SATA's. Always had Toshiba mobile HDD's and never thought of Seagate as a mobile player.

    Any users thoughts on Seagate?

    Thanks,
    Hermit

Agreed Seagate is pretty standard now and the drives run well.

Its good and noticeably faster than samsungs, toshibas.....get one man. I upgraded from Samsung to Seagate and couldnt be happier. Get the momentus 2, that is what I have.

Seagate is the king of notebook perfomance at the moment... IBM a close 2nd.

It's not faster than the Hitachi's but IMO it is a better mobile HDD because it consumes less power and produces less heat. Plus it is a bit more silent than the Hitachi.
