Hi...i was lookingat purchasing a seagate momentus 7200.2 200gb hard drive.
However i am confused as to whether it has a 8mb buffer or 16mb or both are available?
I have checked the website and it is listed as 8mb but on many shops the same model hard drive is listed with a 16mb bufer size?
Can anyone please clear this up for me please? Thanks!

16MB is always better than 8. I believe it has a 16MB buffer. You can also get a 200GB Hitachi.

The Seagate Momentus ST9200420AS and ASG versions are both 16MB.

Go for the hitachi 7k200 drive

Yeah, I think it's faster and it also supports encryption...

If you want speed, ask flamenko for a SSD

Yeah, well I don't want to pay a the price of almost a good laptop on a drive. I need lots of space, not a small flash drive.

Thanks guys for the replies! Yeh i think it is 16mb not 8mb.

Because they're fast.
