Thought I'd test the 880GB Seagate in a really cheap $10(inc shipping) usb external from china.

Nice huh, better than the Seagate. -
Thanks for sharing. Are you sure it's 12.5mm high?
Edit: I would guess 12.5mm although this seller says 15mm (!).
Here they say 15mm too. -
this drive is 15mm high. I dont think any known laptops accept 15mm high drives. And only few accept 12.5mm. If you are looking for a high capacity drive to fit in 9.5mm search for the 750GB toshiba If you have 12.5mm space search for the western digital 12.5mm 1TB drive or the toshiba one.
-
looks to me like 13mm, but im using a paper measure tape lol.

either way western dsigital has 1TB drives that are 12.5mm extra 120GB even if the 880gb is 12.5mm. And western digital is a better company then seagate.
-
you would need 14mm for sure after a remeasure
-
i think this seagate drive was meant for a small portable usb 2.0 enclosure and not as an internal notebook drive.
-
Got this for 109.99+499 shipping, the 1Gb's are to much cash for and extra 120Gb's. Might as well buy another 880Gb.
Someone said that there should be room with the MS-1727, but i'll find out the hard way
