I just saw a US eBay seller selling a bunch these for only US$64.95, factory sealed and claimed no imitation. This seller is 100% positive with over 1000 feedbacks, not even one single neutral.

Is it possible that they make fake versions of these?

Or maybe this drive is not that great?

    1/2 price vs. newegg.

Maybe he just got lucky on a box full of them from a retailer or something??

i saw a post from overseas where those drives were going for the exact same price... maybe seagate is dumping in preperation for the release of a new product??

    just a thought..
they should come with the standard 3 yr warranty.. ask the seller about that!!

make sure you have somewhere to return it if the drive goes south..

For perspective, I bought a Seagate 500gig external for $90 and I see the 160 gig 2.5" portables for around $65 when they go on sale here and there from BB and CC. My old 160gig drives are being slowly replaced by big drives.

The Seagate 7200.2 is a relatively hot product. Look at the idle and peak power consumptions at Tom's Hardware. The latest generation of 7200rpm HDDs tend to run a bit cooler.
