Hey guys, I just did a benchmark with HDTune on my new HD.
Just curious if this is a good/decent/expected set of stats, or if I have some kinks to work out.
Seems to me like it might be running a tad slow:

Go to the specs tab.
I believe this bench is a Read speed bench.
As always, thanks for the advice!

Well my Hitachi 160GB 5400 is the same so yea, could be a problem. Oh yea PATA also! Sorry! Kind of funny how when sold promise the moon but when you get not.

I think you just have one too many applications running by looking at the graph, it's spiking way down too early and should look more like a sloped curve rather than a stock trading graph on a bad day. Make sure nothing is running when you run HD Tune's benchmark and resist multi-tasking.
Other than that, the burst speeds and max transfer rate looks about right. -
Here's my hitachi 7K200 200GB just for comparison, keep in mind that this has a higher density so the burst rate will be faster.
Notice the resulting curve, access times, as well as your CPU usage. Running too many intensive applications while running this bench can rear in bad results. -

You have way too much running at the same time. Your CP activity is way out of whack and it looks like the drive is having a heart attack. Heres mine.
I need to reiterate...START ALL OVER...lolAttached Files:
