Anyone heard of it? Will it nullify my mSSD cache if I use this? It does have an on-board 8MB cache.
-
You're thinking of the Momentus XT that has the SSD cache, the LP is just a 5400RPM low power drive and has no SSD cache so it's fine for use with a mSATA SSD used as a cache.
-
Oh. Yeah. I think it's clear now.
) The XT has a 32MB cache and an SLC NAND 4gb cache as well. The LP only has the 8MB cache.
Although, do you happen to know how high the LP is? I think my laptop can accommodate the thicker ones tho. It's only either 9.5mm or 12.5, right? -
Check the manufacturer specs, i suppose you have a model # if they aren't on the website of who you're buying it from, you should be able to find a datasheet from seagate.

Tsunade_Hime such bacon. wow

Does it really give a significant power reduction? Also, the one I'm looking at is a 1TB. You guys care to give some more options?

Other 1TB drives include the WD Caviar Blue and the Spinpoint M8.
Seagate Momentus LP?
