8 years ago, Seagate could've killed the fledgling SSD industry to preserve their HDD business with this maneuver. But now, Samsung and Intel won't let that happen. Its good because I'm interested to see what LSI can achieve with Seagate's engineering and manufacturing resources.

Sandforce+Seagate = a perfect marriage of two scary storage subsystem partners.
(And one I won't get in the middle of... probably ever).
Yeah; not even LSI could make SF a real controller (even though Intel has... though their (Intel's) goal has always been the right one though: usable performance, not just high 'scores'. Of course, I and many others paid handsomely for that privilege, which I thank Intel for giving me the opportunity to do).
