Is this possible? I don't understand how it works or what it does but the general consensus is that it's useless, as of now. Any thoughts? Is it just a slot like RAM that I can shove a stick of Robson into?
Thanks!

Good question - I noticed that I have a spare mini PCI-E slot on my laptop, one that specifically states on the circuit board that it's meant for a TV tuner or Robson Turbo Memory.
Of course, the question needs to be asked if it'll help at all, but w/e. -
The turbo memory module uses a mini pcie port on the inside of the laptop. It is basically a memory cell from which windows installs boot files on. The memory module can load files faster than a harddrive, so it decreases boot times. However their have been software and firmware issues with the first generation turbo memory modules which caused blue screens, an limited bandwidth. It actually did basically nothing, cause most harddrives could outpace the first generation turbo memory modules, cause they had a greater bandwidth than the limited turbo memory modules.
Here is an image of the one I had before I sold it:

So the new Robson 2 actually does something? or is that included in the first generation you mentioned?

Turbo memory is now v 2.0 which is supposed to fix all the problems that 1.0 had. i personally have it in my laptop and the new update gives you access to user pinning which boosts programs of your choosing. I think it is a cool feature. i posted a thread about it. The link below exemplifies the new feature. I had issues with getting user pinning from the new driver. I also posted in that thread how to get it to work. I have the 2gb module.

Can you put a robson 2 mini-pci on a santa rosa laptop?
-
I would VERY much like to know this as well. However after tons of online research it doesn't seem so, because ITM 2.o according to Intel requires the ICH9 southbridge rather than the ICH8 on the Santa Rosa 965. Someone PLEASE prove me wrong. I don't really see why it couldn't work.
