Is there any reason why a Samsung SED wouldn't work with Windows 8.1 Home Premium? In another forum, there's a guy who says the Magician software needed to manage the SED password, etc., won't run on 8.1 HP. I don't see any requirement for Professional or higher in the Samsung literature. So what could be the problem?

Has anyone here actually used one of these SEDs successfully with Win 7 or 8 Home Premium?

    Thanks for any expertise offered.

I doubt if anyone here has the answer. I'll move this to the SSD forum.

There is no such thing as Windows 8.1 HP.

Either Windows 8.1 or 8.1 Pro.
