    I have budget laptop Compaq Presario 15.6" AMD Sempron M120 Laptop (CQ61-410US) and spare Turion ZM-80.

    Most likely no, the ZM-80 uses S1g2 for the socket, unless the system will support this the cpu can not be upgraded. Everywhere I've seen the v120 is just a plain S1 but this does not mean the main board will not support it.............

    Yes TANWare is correct;

    ZM-80 uses S1G2 as the socket, most likely your newest Sempron is S1.

    From what I am reading on Wiki, there are very few upgrade options for S1. You could go with an older Sempron but less power efficient but it would be faster. Also certain Athlon Neo X2 are S1 as well.

    You would be better off just buying a higher end platform like S1G3/S1G4 and those have plenty of upgrade options.

    Sorry, guys.
    I confused you mistakenly type V120 - of course it is m120

    So question was Does s1g3 platform support s1g2 processor?

    nope... the socket's too old..u're really better off buying a new laptop.. new processors don't really help very old AMD laptops..
