Shall I wait for Seagate 7200.4 or just get the 4200.3?

I am planning to upgrade my HDD from a WD 5400rpm to a Seagate 7200 HDD. I can actually get the Momentus 7200.3 320GB easily. I am hoping to get the 7200.4 500GB instead, but seems like it is so hard to get the hold of one at the moment.

Capacity is not an issue, whether it is 320Gb or 500Gb is fine for me. Pirce-wise, the 7200.3 sells for around £65 where as the 7200.4 will roughly cost between £110-120.

I heard that the 7200.4 500Gb drive is more power efficient than the older 7200.3 320Gb, my question is, is it worth to wait or should I just go for the 7200.3, obviously saving a few quids?

Well, I have read that entire thread over there.

The reason, is that I am my using a 5400rpm drive right now. From my experience with my old laptop, upgrading the HDD to a 7200rpm offers the most significant improvement on performance.

Someone did the math and found out that $/GB values of 7200.3-320GB and 7200.4-500GB are equivalent.

I would wait for the 7200.4 since it is the best performing (traditional) HDD in the market.

On newegg it's on autonotify, just wait. It has the best performance for the same price per GB, why settle for less?
