What is meant by "shared" DDR?

I understand what it means when talking about a GPU, but when the memory is advertised as Dual Channel "Shared" DDR2, what does that mean? Does it just mean that both DIMMs are occupied? A lot of Inspirons have this and I've seen it a few other places, too.

    Thanks

Yeah, the shared usually refers to the fact that the GPU uses some of the main RAM & the dual channel should also indicate that both the slots are occupied(2 equal sized memory modules make up dual channel RAM)

For example, my dell 1150 has Intel Extreme Graphics 2. It can use 1 MB - 64 MB of my system's memory to use as graphics.
