Type this in since I'm so new, I can't post URLs:
    cgi.ebay.com/Laptop-USB-Blu-Ray-BD-R-BD-RE-Burner-Writer-DL-Recorder_W0QQitemZ400002618544QQcmdZViewItem?hash=item400002618544&_trkparms=72%3A1205%7C39%3A1%7C66%3A2%7C65%3A12%7C240%3A1318&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14

I have an HP dv6000 I love, but really want to add blu-ray. It's not just for the luxury of hi-def movies and the likelihood I'll soon have an HDTV, but for the storage opportunity. That's why a ROM drive would be subpar to me. will this writer drive work in my laptop? Thanks to all who can help.

For a laptop? I do all my burning on my desktop.. If you don't have a desktop, and you found a decent deal for the blueray burner, I say go for it. But most bluray are in the 100's.. Not worth it.
