I decided to upgrade my old laptop CPU from T9400 @2.5Ghz to either T9800 @2.9Ghz or T9900 @3.0Ghz.

Which one do you guys think is better? T9800 or T9900
    I can get T9800 at $380 and T9900 at $430

I assume both of them produced the same heat since they are both 35W.

Is there any noticeable different in speed from 2.9Ghz compare to 3.0Ghz?
    If yes, how much faster?

    Edit:
    How many % performance gain if I change my T9400 @2.4Ghz to T9800 @2.9Ghz?

    Thank You

Dont bother, you will not notice the difference, I would not pay more than $10. (For the difference of .1GHz)

The T9800 is a far better deal. The 0.1GHz will only be slightly noticeable in benchmarks. But do you really need a CPU upgrade in the first place?

Yea because I have $200 rebate coupon from intel CPU product. It is going to expired soon. So, I think is better to spent it then let the coupon expired.

Even with that rebate you will be paying $180 for 0.5 GHz or $230 for 0.6. Neither is worth it, as said above you will only notice it in benchmarks, unless you use CPU-intensive applications like MATLAB or Football Manager.

Oh well, I guess I will buy the T9900 and re-sell it again at eBay.

Very little difference indeed. Certainly not worth $50. Just get the T9800 and overclock it to more than 3ghz if the oomph is needed.

$380 will get you very little benefit as HerrKaputt said, unless you are using programs such as MATLAB or other calculation based programs.

Usually, when you do normal tasks like music, movies, web browsing, games (even the newest most computer resource intensive ones) uses very little of the CPU. So the T9400 is very competent already.

If you do buy it, sell it off eBay, then :)

0.1 Ghz wont make much difference in real time.
