Should I go with the SSD tier list?

I just read the April 2012 version of the SSD tier list and I noticed that both the Mushkin Enhanced Chronos Deluxe 240gb and the Samsung 830 256gb were tier one, while the M4 256gb occupied tier 3.

I was wondering whether I should use this list as a reference point for buying? The Mushkin is only $240 on NewEgg, while the Samsung is $330 and the M4 $300.

I'm not really looking for killer performance (ie. benchmarks), but would like a nice snappy system that I can use for a few years (ideally 4+, hence the 240gb capacities).

I've heard that the m4 and the 830 are rock solid drives, but what about the Mushkin? I've kind of shied away from OCZ given all their issues...

Don't worry about tier list, chart or w.e. The "tier list" itself even say there real life performance difference is minimal.

Just pick the cheapest one within reliable brands. The mushkin had not been find to have any major issue. (not that it had minor issue, I just don't know how to phase a sentence. ~~)
If you can justify the cost, samsung does offer pretty much the best performance(although mostly unnoticeable) and reliability.

The tier list kind of just serves to show you which SSDs are far outdated (i.e. so people don't accidentally buy Vertex 1's or something). Anything in the top 3-5 tiers will pretty much give you similar real world performance. I would also not recommend the sandforce drives, but if you insist I would trust Mushkin over the other manufacturers.

    Go samsung or crucial.

There's an SSD tier list? If so, it will only really differentiate between "fast enough," "slightly faster," and "blindingly fast but you can't tell." As long as the drive is cheap and non-Sandforce, you'll be fine.

Where is this tier list? I seem to be a little late to the SSD party! :) ?
